Preston Randall isn't trying to rewrite Twilight to suck up some of the left over teen money. He's not pumping out that sequel to The Illiad that everyone is beating down the bookstore doors to get - heck he's not even trying to concoct the great American novel. He's just got his Fruit-Of-The-Looms in a twist and wants to spew out a few dozen pages about it. And what is he on about? Commercials, flyers, adverts of all kinds and just the general detritus we all must wade through every single day to live in a modern global economy. That's all. And, well, he's had it. He takes on one dimwitted advertiser after another - with the most moronic of claims - and feeds them a heaping helping of their own blather. Praising their absolute ineffectiveness and ineptitude - while offering delightful testimonials that only their detractors could enjoy. It makes for a work that is simple, witty, silly and yet oddly cordial and illuminating... certainly a really fun read. No great investment required, just leaf through until Preston starts in on one of the dolts you really wish you'd sent a letter to - and enjoy his take on it. Please read 'em and weep - with tears of lol-ing.

Letters I Wish I Had Sent edition by Preston Randall Literature Fiction eBooks

One of the funniest tongue-in-cheek works I've read in ages! Not only is this well-written, it touches that special place inside that longs to poke annoying people/companies with a really sharp stick. Preston has put into words what many of us are thinking with regard to certain relatives, neighbors, retailers, etc., but can't quite put into words without get us sued or punched in the eye.

This redefines the feel-good experience with which we would love to end each day. Worth every penny of its extremely low cost!

Letters I Wish I Had Sent edition by Preston Randall Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is a very clever and hilarious review of subjects everyone can relate to.
AND it is just the thing to get the endorphins flowing!
Preston Randall got it all right in this funny and quick read, I hope there
will more to come!!!
I read a lot of books with serious subject matter recently, so it was time to find something light for a change. This book was refreshing, and very funny indeed! Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. These are letters we all could have written!
Letters I Wish I Had Sent

This book is an ideal antidote for those little annoyances the world throws in your path from time to time.

You know who they are. Scam artists. Advertisers who promise to remove hair, replace hair, make one part of your body soft or another part of your body hard. Officials who think "serving the public" means yanking the chain of anyone who crosses their path. Weird neighbours. Weird relatives.

Preston Randall talks back to them, and you can learn to do the same. Don't read his lips. Read his book. Your blood pressure will thank you.
I got a kick out of this book and really did laugh out loud. The author's humor is the same as mine, so it was perfect. The only thing better would have been had the letters actually been mailed, and the responses published - if they ever responded. Very quick read, but worth it for some real life day-to-day humor.
This book is hilarious! It's a compilation of disgruntled letters to badly behaving neighbors, relatives and colleagues, bad customer service reps and responding to issues like the great Nigerian Prince scam. It's a dry and witty sense of humor that I personally appreciate without vulgarity so it's definitely safe for work (unless of course you think you might get in trouble for laughing out loud)
Preston Randall has put down in print something we all wish we could do--give someone who has irritated us a written jab in the nose. The fact that he didn't send some of these is unquestionably a wise decision on his part. Relatives might very well have written him off their holiday dinner lists-which after having read the details might have been justification for Preston to write his tongue-in-cheek, thinly veiled dressing downs to begin with.
I was particularly delighted with the first entry wherein the tables were turned on the "Nigerian" money scam, but the all natural cereal marketing letter later on caused me to fall out of my chair laughing.
If you are Aunt Martha or the neighbor across the street, this collection of witty un-sent letters is not for you, but if you simply wish to identify (and laugh your head off), jump right in. You won't find anything more pleasantly acidic, and in the process you might receive a plastic replica of Blinky the 3-eyed fish to remind you how nuts this modern age sometimes is.
An EXCELLENT read.
Good for a laugh and I loved the witty delivery the author conveyed through sarcasm! Sometimes just writing it down is all you need!
